Assisted Stretching at StretchLab
Temperatures are on the rise, and a great way to warm up for all the summer fun is through assisted stretching at Greenville’s StretchLab.
According to General Manager Luke McClellan, some of the most active people overlook the importance of stretching, which is key to avoiding injury and maintaining flexibility. “People in their thirties and forties are focused on building careers, buying houses and raising families. For those who work out, a proper warmup and cooldown is often neglected,” McClellan said. “There’s a mindset of using your exercise time exclusively for the workout itself, but it’s more efficient to dedicate some time to stretching before and after.”
However, stretching at home is not a substitute for StretchLab sessions. “Any stretching you do on your own is a great way to supplement your fitness routine, but for optimal results, there’s no way to replicate our hands-on, assisted stretching,” he said.
As age increases, physical activity doesn’t have to decrease. “It’s possible to regain mobility and flexibility that’s been lost over the years,” McClellan said. Noting that programs at StretchLab are completely customized for each person, he also pointed out that many of StretchLab’s youngest clients are athletes looking to prevent injury and improve sports performance.
“The ultimate goal, for all ages, is to increase flexibility and range of motion while reducing muscle soreness and joint pain,” McClellan said. “That’s a great way to start the summer and ensure that you can maintain an active lifestyle throughout every phase of your life.”
