Food Lion plans to move into a vacant Bi-Lo storefront in Greenville before the end of the year.
The grocery store will be located in the Field Plaza Shopping Center at 2111 N. Pleasantburg Drive. A Food Lion spokesperson said the new store will be approximately 42,000 square feet.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to nourish our neighbors, we continually look for opportunities to serve new areas and families, and this property was a great fit to bring our easy, fresh and affordable omnichannel shopping experience to our Greenville neighbors,” said the Food Lion spokesperson.
Bi-Lo was founded in Greenville in the 1960s and ceased operations in 2021. Food Lion acquired multiple Bi-Lo locations across the Carolinas and Georgia after the supermarket chain discontinued.
