Milliken & Co., a textile manufacturer, announced Steve Layton as president of its newly acquired company, Polartec.
Polartec, obtained in June, creates textiles for outdoor and military apparel. It combines sustainable practices and innovative design to make leading brands used by the U.S. military.
With seven years of experience at Milliken & Co., Layton will lead the integration of Polartec’s outdoor fabrics into Milliken’s textiles. Most recently, Layton served as vice president of sales and marketing for Westex by Milliken Flame.
“It is an honor to lead the Polartec business as we embark upon our next era of success,” he said. “Polartec is preceded by a strong reputation. I look forward to working with the team to further it in the market.”
