Othniel Laffitte, senior vice president and market executive for Palmetto State Bank in Greenville, has been honored by the South Carolina Bankers Association with the 2026 Outstanding Young Banker Award.
The award was presented at SCBA’s annual meeting in Naples, Florida in June. Launched in 1970, the Outstanding Young Banker Award is the highest honor bestowed by SCBA.
Laffitte is a 2010 graduate of Wofford College, a 2016 graduate of the South Carolina Bankers School and a 2022 graduate of Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking.
Laffitte joined Palmetto State Bank in 2025 to lead the bank’s expansion in Greenville. Beyond his success in banking, Laffitte is involved in community service and volunteers with a number of local organizations dedicated to literacy and supporting families impacted by pediatric cancer.
Laffitte has also been involved with leadership within SCBA, including stints as chairman of the emerging leaders division and as a member of the SCBA board of directors.
