Greenville men’s clothier Rush Wilson Limited celebrated 75 years in business Aug. 26 with Mayor Knox White proclaiming it as “Rush Wilson Limited’s 75th Year of Providing High-End Fashion Week.”
“75 years ago [on] Aug. 20, my dad started his business. They [his parents] were married on Friday the 18th, and on Sunday, the honeymoon was over,” Rush Wilson III said during the proclamation.
The business first opened in Davidson, North Carolina, in 1950 before opening its second store in Greenville in 1959. They later closed the Davidson store. The Greenville location initially opened on Main Street, later relocating to its current location 23 W. North St. when construction of the Hyatt Regency Greenville began in 1978.
