Spartanburg Community College has been recognized as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity, the college announced May 22.
SCC received this recognition during a community symposium in April that brought together academic, government and community leaders from across the nation to recognize institutions advancing cybersecurity education, research, and workforce development.
SCC’s recognition represents the college’s national standing as a leading institution in cybersecurity education.
“This designation reflects the dedication of our faculty and staff, the strength of our academic programs, and our commitment to preparing students for high-demand careers in cybersecurity,” said SCC President Michael Mikota in a statement about the recognition. “As technology continues to evolve, Spartanburg Community College remains focused on developing a highly skilled workforce that will serve and strengthen our communities, industries and nation.”
