Donut and dessert lovers in Greenville have a new spot to check out.
Mochibees Donut Cafe is a new concept that just opened at 1270 Woodruff Rd. that serves up mochi donuts, a Japanese-style donut made in small batches using only fresh ingredients.
What is a mochi donut?
Often considered a “fusion pastry,” mochi donuts cross traditional American donuts with Japanese rice cakes. These donuts are a bit crispier on the outside compared to traditional donuts with a more chewy and fluffy inside.
At Mochibees, the pastries look like rings with a much larger hole than you might expect. They also feature an ever-changing menu, with popular options including:
