Smoke on the Water broke ground on its new location east of Greenville July 21.
For two decades, the restaurant held the iconic spot at 1 Augusta St. in downtown’s West End that is now home to Nic & Norman’s. Smoke on the Water moved out in March 2024.
The Southern gastropub announced on Instagram it was breaking ground at 64 Beacon Drive, near Pelham Road and Interstate 85.
“That’s right — construction is officially underway and Smoke on the Water is coming BACK,” according to the post on Instagram.
An opening date was not given but the post indicated construction updates will be shared.
