Detpak USA, a global packaging supplier for the quick-service restaurant and food service industries, has chosen Spartanburg County for its first U.S. production facility, the state Department of Commerce announced July 16.
The multi-million investment in an existing 175,000-square foot facility at 2781 New Cut Road is expected to begin operations in August and create 50 jobs.
A subsidiary of Australia-based Detmold Group, Detpak was founded in 1981. Detpak and Detmold sell products in 45 countries and have production facilities in eight.
Detpak’s new South Carolina facility will support North American market growth and is expected to use both imported and locally-sourced raw materials from existing suppliers.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $100,000 Set-Aside grant to Spartanburg County to assist with the costs of building improvements.
