Visit Anderson is rebranding to usher in a new era, one that enhances tourism and attracts visitors by drawing attention to the area’s natural beauty while remaining true to Anderson’s roots.
The convention and visitors bureau for the city and county announced the rebrand on March 14 at the Anderson Arts Center.
“A lot of times with tourism, people want bright, flashy,” said Neil Paul, Visit Anderson executive director. “People want Las Vegas, and we’re not Las Vegas. And obviously, we don’t want to be. But we do want to catch more eyes and draw more people to our area.”
One of the strategies the project focuses on is the city’s geographic location between Atlanta and Charlotte, North Carolina, but it also represents the county as a whole. The updated tagline for Anderson: “The Center of It All.”
The organization also unveiled a new logo and website with an overhaul of marketing content. One of the assets the bureau hopes to draw more attention to is Lake Hartwell, making water-themed visuals a strong focus of its rebranding.Lake Hartwell has hosted the Bassmaster Classic four times since 2008, most recently in 2022.
The rebrand will feature new colors for Visit Anderson, each of which pays homage to the concepts the bureau hopes to invoke and the city’s natural focal points. Dark blue represents the night sky and wisdom; teal represents serenity and the calm tranquility of Lake Hartwell; orange signifies vitality and the sun during dusk and dawn; and yellow is for energy and the sun at noon.
“We drew inspiration from our sunsets and the other beautiful things that make up Anderson County,” Paul said. “We hope that it will take your breath away but always keep you rooted and remind you of where you are.”
In attendance in support of the event were Anderson County Council member Tommy Dunn, Anderson County Administrator Rusty Burns, City Council member Luis Martinez, and Anderson County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Division Director Glenn Brill.
