Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina hosted a grand opening of its business services center July 20 at 412-A Sulphur Springs Road, Greenville.
The 8,000-square-foot facility is adjacent to Goodwill’s donation and retail center in the same complex, joining all of Goodwill’s missions — donation, retail, job connection and now business services — on the same property.
The business services center allows Goodwill to train workers and provide outsourced services to businesses that might be short-staffed or need workers on a temporary basis.
The business services department also funds education and training for those looking for work, including those with disabilities and disadvantages.
It offers services like production support, which involves tasks like product sorting and labeling, small assembly and product rework; custodial, involving interior cleaning and floor care; and window cleaning, which includes glass, awning and gutter cleaning.
“By outsourcing these services, companies are able to focus on what they do best and leave the rest to Goodwill,” the company said in a press release.
