Magna, a Canadian mobility technology company for the automotive industry, officially opened a 170,000-square-foot facility in Duncan on April 7.
“The launch of this facility shows our commitment to providing our employees with modern amenities and our customers with world-class manufacturing,” said Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting president John O’Hara. “With our highly qualified workforce, we are dedicated to supplying feature-rich exterior mirror systems to our global customers.”
The 1150 S. Danzler Rd. location employs around 225 people — with about 175 more expected in the future — and produces mirror systems for BMW, Mercedes and Volvo. It also features amenities such as:
- Wellness room
- Fitness center
- Canteen with adjacent patio and gaming area
- Vegetable garden
- Solar-lit walking trail
This facility increases Magna’s footprint in South Carolina to six locations.
