Marc Metcalf, senior business recruitment officer at Upstate SC Alliance, recently received the SC Certified Economic Developer Designation.
The South Carolina Certified Economic Developer (SCCED) Designation is earned by completing the SCEDA Advanced Symposium program. To fulfill the symposium requirements, Metcalf studied a year-long curriculum of courses related to product and infrastructure development, negotiation, deal structuring, marketing, communications, and other economic development topics. The rigorous program also entailed the successful completion of several exams and culminated in Metcalf’s case study presentation before a panel of economic development judges.
Metcalf has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from North Greenville University. He currently represents the Alliance on the boards of SCBIO and the SC Automotive Council, and he is a board member of the City of Greer Recreation Association.
