TR Hospitality Group LLC, in partnership with Compo Hotels, plans to build a new hospitality destination in Travelers Rest.
The $14 million mixed-use development would expand the current offerings at The Station, a boutique lodging option at 745 Old Buncombe Road. The Station by Compo Hotels opened in 2022 along the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail, near the confluence of U.S. highways 25 and 276. It currently features eight luxury cottages for guests to stay in.
A new 16-suite boutique hotel is planned for the property, less than a mile south of downtown Travelers Rest. It will feature a food hall on the ground floor with up to 5,000 square feet of subdividable retail and restaurant space.
Trinity Partners, a Greenville-based commercial real estate firm, announced the new leasing opportunity on July 8. Rakan Draz, senior brokerage associate with Trinity Partners, said The Station’s trail frontage, ample parking and curated design offer an ideal space for boutique retail, cafes, wellness concepts and more.
“The Station is a rare opportunity for lifestyle-driven businesses to join one of the Upstate’s fastest-growing and most visited small towns,” Draz said.
The expansion will also create a 5,500-square-foot event venue on the site. Brice Bay, CEO of Compo Hotels, said the company saw an opportunity for a premier event space for destination weddings and corporate events in the market.
“Travelers Rest is exploding,” Bay said. “We’re just participating in that growth.”
Bay explained that construction will start as soon as the project’s financing is completed, which should be this fall. The expansion is expected to take around 16 months to complete, but the new event venue is hoped to open in the summer of 2026.
