Ben & Jerry’s and JINYA Ramen Bar joined a growing list of new-to-market businesses in the University Ridge development, RocaPoint Partners announced Oct. 25.
The Atlanta-based developer has undertaken the $1 billion project to reconfigure more than 40 acres along University Ridge into a sprawling mixed-use hub in downtown Greenville. The project includes Greenville County’s new administrative complex, which fronts Church Street and opened this spring.
The development will include a range of residential, office, retail, and food and beverage tenants.
Bringing the Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop to the development is PRIMO Partners, the only Black-owned, multi-unit franchise group of Ben & Jerry’s.
“Being anchored in the triangle region of North Carolina and Atlanta, Greenville has been on our radar for about a decade,” said Antonio McBroom, PRIMO Partners CEO. “We fell in love with the potential and promise of the city and its rich cultural history.”
Joining Ben & Jerry’s is JINYA Ramen Bar, a 3,700-square-foot restaurant serving 13 signature ramen bowls with more than 25 toppings.
The restaurant will be a casual, full-service restaurant with a full bar and outdoor patio seating.
Ben & Jerry’s and JINYA Ramen Bar join The Perch Kitchen and Tap as the project’s first food and beverage tenants. RocaPoint Partners also announced earlier this year Pins Mechanical, Fairway Social and Agave Bandido as entertainment anchors.
Whole Foods Market will serve as the grocery anchor. Lima One Capital has also announced it will relocate to County Square.
The county administrative complex was designed by Foster + Partners, the globally famous, UK-based architectural firm which designed Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.
