FN America LLC, a United States subsidiary of firearms manufacturer FN Herstal S.A., will invest $33 million to build a production facility in Liberty, the business announced April 26.
The investment is expected to create 176 jobs at the 100,000-square-foot building, which will be constructed over two phases.
“FN America has experienced significant growth over the last several years and demand for our products continues to increase in all market segments that we serve,” said FN America LLC President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Cherpes. “Our new facility in Liberty, South Carolina will allow us to expand our manufacturing capabilities and grow our highly skilled workforce to meet that new demand. We are proud to partner with Pickens County and the state of South Carolina on this expansion.”
FN America plans to break ground on its Pickens County facility in 2024 and construction is expected to finish in 2025. The company has a facility in Richland County and has not disclosed the address for its new Liberty location.
