United Community’s new headquarters in downtown Greenville is officially open.
More than 300 employees began moving into the $65 million headquarters located at 200 E. Camperdown Way at the beginning of March.
The approximately 200,000-square-foot building took around two years to construct and includes 92 offices, 226 workstations and 26 conference rooms. It was designed according to WELL health and wellbeing standards and is one of the first certified buildings in South Carolina.
Michelle Seaver, president of United Community for Greenville, Spartanburg and Cherokee counties, said the new building is a fresh start for the company which has been headquartered in Greenville since 2021. The company also rebranded to United Community in 2023.
“Greenville is a thriving, wonderful community that we’re proud to be a part of,” Seaver said. “The people, their businesses and their commitment to this community is what makes this the perfect home for United.”
United Community employees were previously spread between four buildings in downtown Greenville. Employees at three of the four locations are moving to the headquarters.
The new building sits on 4.2 acres overlooking the Reedy River next to the Grand Bohemian Lodge. Seaver believes the headquarters location will be a great attraction for customers.
The bank’s downtown branch, previously located on East North Street, is now the headquarters. The new, two-story branch takes up 17,838 square feet of space. Seaver said the branch will offer all the same services in a new and fresh way.
“It is open and it’s very welcoming,” Seaver said. “It’s very clean and just classic. It’s going to be very exciting for people to come in.”
