South Carolina Research Authority’s investment affiliate, SC Launch, announced May 3 it awarded a $250,000 investment to Ruffian Software, a startup based in Mauldin.
The company will use the funds to scale its privileged access management tool, a security solution that may help organizations protect themselves from cyber threats, in the managed service provider market.
Ruffian Software’s TechIDManager:
- Works with different frameworks, such as HIPAA
- Automatically makes and manages individual accounts with appropriate rights for every MSP technician on every domain with automatic passwords
The Mauldin-based startup also prepares businesses and organizations for compliance audits.
“Innovation includes finding better ways to achieve outcomes, and Ruffian Software has succeeded in this,” said SCRA Executive Director Bob Quinn. “Their product and services can potentially reduce cybercrime and data breaches while improving online privacy for the average person.”
Ruffian Software became an SCRA member company in 2021 and also received a $250,000 investment when it became an SC Launch portfolio company.
