Upstate Business Journal is pleased to present the third installment of Alpha Mode, its new, digital feature that appears each month on upstatebusinessjournal.com, in partnership with QLI International LLC and Alex LaCasse (MTN llc).
This month’s Alpha Mode, “Conversations with Next-Level Leaders,” features Sean McEnroe. He serves on multiple startup, equity-backed, and nonprofit boards. McEnroe uses his experience as both an entrepreneur and a senior executive in a large, private equity-backed company to help companies prioritize strategy for significant growth and transformation.
McEnroe joined ATI Physical Therapy, a nationwide operator of 800+ physical therapy
clinics, in 2015. At ATI, McEnroe served as the chief strategy officer during a period of rapid expansion, executive leadership growth, and equity partner transition. Prior to ATI, he served as the CEO of Proaxis Therapy, a regional platform in physical therapy. He also served on the board of directors of the private practice section of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Of his leadership style, McEnroe says, “I like people. I love having conversations with individuals about what they are dreaming about, what they care about, and where they want to go. That’s the therapist in me. And so you turn that over into goal-setting and creating opportunities for those people to have wild success and together building a program to get there. So I’d say the therapist in me has turned into a kind of career therapist and a leadership therapist in trying to help people achieve whatever goal it is that they have in them.”
McEnroe’s current work includes businesses in health care technology, multisite health care, and multisite retail. He is a graduate of Marquette University School of Physical Therapy with an MBA from Denver University. He lives in South Carolina with his wife, Gretchen, and their four children.
