Automotive supplier builds first US plant in Spartanburg

Automotive materials manufacturer PecTec Corporation is establishing its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Spartanburg County. The $2 million investment will create 15 new jobs in the area.

Located at 130 Corporate Drive in Spartanburg, the 11,600-square-foot industrial facility will provide non-ferrous metals for the automotive industry. The facility will produce more than 6 million linear meters of product annually, including foils, strips and sheets of aluminum, aluminum alloy, copper, copper alloy and stainless steel.

“We are pleased to be locating our new facility in Spartanburg. The location will provide us with an excellent business environment in which to operate as well as afford our associates with a great place to live,” said PecTec Corporation President and CEO Manfred Tonhaeuser in a statement. “With the automotive-experienced workforce here in the Upstate, PecTec can grow into a successful future.”

PecTec operates under the Germany-based Braun GmbH group, which produces a wide range of non-ferrous metals. PecTec is the group’s first international production operation.
