Confidence is important in all areas of life. But when it comes to financial confidence, particularly where generational wealth is concerned, that can be difficult to come by.
It takes an experienced and dedicated wealth management team to help create true confidence, and The Murphy Investment Group of Wells Fargo Advisors has been proudly serving its clients for years.
Led by William Murphy, Senior Financial Advisor and Managing Director – investments, the Murphy Investment Group has taken on some of the most complex wealth and investment

planning for generationally wealthy clients. And it’s done so while refining a personal touch that allows it to tailor plans to each family’s individual needs.
“Our goal is to work with clients and prospective clients who have more complicated balance sheets in terms of assets and liabilities,” Murphy said.
But he was quick to add that it’s about more than numbers on a page when it comes to family wealth management.
“It’s about the off-balance-sheet questions, like family dynamics and motivations and priorities,” Murphy said.
Luckily, Murphy, a Furman University graduate, has 24 years of experience in wealth management and investment planning under his belt.
He and his team, Claude C. Robinson (Senior Financial Advisor), Ryan B. Callaham (Financial Advisor), Daniel S. Willey (Senior Registered Client Associate), Piper Haupt (Senior Client
Associate) and Madison Luckett (Client Associate) have crafted a boutique-style firm with all the muscle and infrastructure of the Wells Fargo organization.
The approach is, as Murphy called it, “Ritz Carlton-level service at FedEx speeds.”
“We have experts to advise on estate planning strategies, wills, trusts and taxes,” he said. “We bring the intellectual capital and very deep bench to the table. Everything we do, the planning, the advice, the portfolio construction, and the estate planning strategies, all of that is fully customized to each individual family.”
And just as each plan is tailored, The Murphy Investment Group tailors its client list as well.
“We don’t work with everybody,” Murphy said. “We have a very simple rule here with our team: We’re just trying to work with happy people. I know it sounds silly, but it’s pretty much that simple.”
Giving back
But The Murphy Investment Group isn’t just about providing for its clients; the group provides for the Upstate community as well, a place that the whole team loves and strives to give back to.
Murphy is the chair of the 2025 edition of The Rose Ball, an event which has raised millions for a variety of Greenville County nonprofits over the years. He also serves on the board of directors of both Artisphere and the Bon Secours St. Francis Foundation of Greenville.
Clearly, The Murphy Investment Group’s community roots run deep.
“We’re never moving,” Murphy said with a laugh. “We’re not going anywhere.”
