A new drive-thru coffee concept is coming to Greenville.
Canal Coffee Co. will build a location at 299 S. Pleasantburg Drive, down the road from McAlister Square. Charlotte, North Carolina-based Cape Asset Management owns the coffee shop chain.
The new coffee shop will serve a variety of drink options including lattes, cold brews, energy drinks and smoothies. The menu also features bakery, breakfast, lunch and dinner food options.
Carrie McNeil, Cape Asset Management’s director of asset management, said this will be the first Canal Coffee Co. location in Greenville and the fourth in South Carolina. The coffee chain also has locations in North Carolina and Florida.
“We have some other sites identified as well in the market so there won’t be just this one,” McNeil said. McMillan Pazdan Smith is the architect and Bluewater Civil Design is the civil engineer for the project.

Before construction can begin, the project will go before the city’s Board of Zoning Appeals to receive a special exception for a drive-thru. The project is tentatively scheduled to be presented at the board’s Nov. 14 meeting.
