Coldwell Banker Caine has opened a new office on Main Street in Anderson.
The location was formerly a U.S. Postal Service building, the first in Anderson. The rehabilitation was recently lauded with a South Carolina Historic Preservation Award. The office was built in 1909 in the Beaux-Arts style of architecture characterized by details like balusters and a pediment. It draws influence from Greek and Roman architecture.
The real estate agency purchased the building 2021. It held a grand opening July 24, offering residents a chance to see the repurposed building. Caine Cos. CEO Stephen Edgerton said the building underwent a full historic renovation.
Caine Cos. encompasses KDS Caine, Coldwell Banker Caine and Caine Hayes Insurance.

During the renovation, the team attempted to honor the building’s history while incorporating modern innovation including manufactured office boxes that don’t use traditional framing or disturb the interior structure.
The office maintained many of its legacy features including safes, teller windows and a bulletin board which was a meeting place for the community.
Coldwell Banker Caine Anderson is located at 401 N Main St. in downtown Anderson. It also has several offices in Greenville, as well as Travelers Rest, Spartanburg and Six Mile.
