Entrepreneurs in the Upstate that have some free time between Nov. 8-14 are in luck, because there are a number of events around the Upstate helping up-and-coming business owners navigate the start-up process.
Erin Ouzts, Upstate Entrepreneur Ecosystem director, has built a career of assisting entrepreneurs starting their businesses, and she pairs future business leaders with programs and information. Several events around the Upstate are meant to empower entrepreneurs and highlight minority-owned businesses.
“It’s a great way to showcase the activities of entrepreneurs,” Ouzts said.
It’s not just an Upstate thing — Global Entrepreneur Week will be celebrated all over the world. And with the pandemic and many events still virtual, the conferences aren’t limited to anyone in any geographic location.
Brian Brady, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, said each year, they have an event that focuses on a different aspect of entrepreneurship. Last year, it was the challenges of Black women-owned businesses. This year, it’s about the growth of Hispanic businesses in the Upstate.
“There’s a great turnout and support from the business community,” Brady said.
