The Greenville Chamber announced Oct. 28 it is accepting applications for its 2022 Upstate Minority Business Accelerator (MBA) program.
The 12-month program works to support and scale high-potential minority-owned firms by providing targeted training, as well as access to business coaches and large corporations.
During the first six months, participants undergo intensive training following the internationally recognized Interise StreetWise ‘MBA’ curriculum. The program will also allow business owners to work closely with financial experts, coaches and MBA peers on their three-year Strategic Growth Action Plans as well as learn how to implement the program’s lessons.
To qualify for the MBA program, the participant’s business must meet the following criteria:
- Greenville Chamber member
- Based in the Upstate
- Socially or economically disadvantaged such as minority, veteran or woman-owned, as well as those serving lower-income communities
The program’s ideal candidates generate between $250,000 to $10 million in annual revenue, have at least one other full-time employee and have been in business for more than three years, said a press release from the Greenville Chamber.
The new class will kick off in January and the chamber will also host a virtual information session about the program on Nov. 5.
Since its inception, the Greenville Chamber’s MBA program, which is one of six in the nation offered by Chambers of Commerce, has graduated more than 110 participants and created 250 new full-time jobs. In addition, its participants have seen a combined $26 million in new revenue.
