On May 11, the Greenville Chamber will host its 133rd annual meeting, one of the largest business gatherings in the state. It will happen at Fluor Field and this year’s focus will be “Growing a Greater Greenville.”
Gates will open at 4:45 p.m., and they will present awards starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be a heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktail networking reception at 6:45 p.m., and tickets will be sold at the gate. The chamber is limiting the number of people at the event, and anyone with COVID-19 will be able to get a full refund if they have to cancel. They’re asking attendees to wear masks — even those who are vaccinated. Those interested can sign up at greenvillechamber.org.
While it’s an outdoor venue, the stage will be on the field and seating will be in the grandstands. If there’s a weather event, they will still meet at the stadium with alternate arrangements. The chamber has been able to keep the event going each year, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, said Megan Campbell, marketing and communications director with the Greenville Chamber.
“We haven’t missed a meeting in 133 years, so it’s pretty remarkable,” she said.
The theme, according to the chamber, is about a Greenville where businesses succeed and people prosper. The cost is $95 for a chamber investor and $115 for general admission. Guests will hear from Greenville Chamber President and CEO Carlos Phillips as he looks back over the previous year and outlines the chamber’s vision for the rest of 2022. Roz Weston, president and CEO at RAWeston Communication LLC, and Jane Robelot, WYFF 4 news anchor and correspondent, will emcee the event.
The chamber will present awards including Small Business of the Year, Minority Business of the Year, Young Professional of the Year, ATHENA Leadership, Max Heller Neighborhood Improvement, Distinguished Leadership Greenville Alumni and F. Ben Haskew Collaboration.
