R.E. Michel Co., a wholesale distributor of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, propane and industrial supplies, began operations on March 9 at its new 600,000-square-foot distribution center in Clinton.
The facility at 1702 Springdale Drive will act as a key logistics hub for the company and will initially serve 106 company-owned locations throughout the Southeast. Operations at this location are also expected to create 38 jobs.
“This new distribution center strengthens our ability to provide our customers with industry leading product availability and logistical capabilities,” said Bobby Michel, president of R.E. Michel Co. “Clinton offers a strategic location, a strong workforce and a welcoming business environment. We’re proud to expand our footprint in South Carolina and invest in this community.”
The business plans to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local and state officials in the coming months to celebrate the facility’s opening.
