South Carolina Research Authority, a public, nonprofit corporation that works to fuel the state’s innovation economy, announced Sept. 4 it welcomed NovaVia Spine and Biologics LLC of Clemson University, and Tax Titans Inc. and Terratory LLC of Greenville as member companies.
NovaVia Spine and Biologics created the NovaVia Annular Repair System, a medical device designed to repair a herniated intervertebral disc. The system is intended to serve as a mechanical barrier to cover the annulus fibrosus defect, prevent immediate re-herniation of tissue and promote healing while the patient recovers.
Tax Titans provides a free platform for small businesses to receive bids and quotes from qualified and vetted tax professionals.
Terratory’s platform offers intelligent scheduling, routing and team management for the lawn care industry.
As SCRA member companies, the businesses will receive coaching, access to experts, grant eligibility and consideration for an investment from SCRA’s investment affiliate, SC Launch.
SCRA also awarded $125,000 in grants to three member companies across the state.
Dealerverse Inc. of Greenville received a $25,000 project development fund grant. The information technology startup has designed an artificial intelligence-powered tech stack that combines creative content, technology and results into one AI-driven, decision-making tool.
Other grant recipients include Notey Inc. of Cayce and Querri Inc. of Mt. Pleasant. Both businesses received a $50,000 acceleration grant.
