Smoking Butt Heads BBQ, a new barbecue restaurant, taproom and live music venue, is set to open in Spartanburg this summer.
The restaurant will be located in the historic Greenewald’s building at 111 W. Main St. – the former home to the Wild Wing Cafe.
Todd Smith, a world-champion pitmaster, and Nate Tomforde, a local restaurateur and brewery owner, are partnering to open this barbecue concept.
“I never intended to open another restaurant, but when I heard about the opportunity to partner with Nate for a beer and barbecue concept in the heart of downtown Spartanburg, I couldn’t pass it up,” Smith said.
Offering dine-in and to-go food as well as on and off-site catering, Smoking Butt Heads’ menu serves barbecue cooked using drums rather than a traditional smoker.
The restaurant also includes a taproom offering local brews and craft cocktails. An upstairs venue space will be available to host weekly live music performances and private events.
