Greenville’s Steve White Auto Group announced the acquisition of Volkswagen of Spartanburg on March 26.
Volkswagen of Spartanburg was originally owned by Vic Bailey Automotive before being acquired by Kentucky-based Hudson Automotive Group in 2023. The recent acquisition by Steve White Auto Group returns the dealership to local ownership.
“We’ve seen firsthand what a difference local, owner-on-site management makes at a car dealership,” said Marc White, dealer principal for Steve White Auto Group. “Our goal is to create an experience where our employees and customers feel known, valued, and taken care of – and that starts with leadership that’s present and engaged every single day.”
The dealership, renamed Steve White Volkswagen Spartanburg, is located at 2671 Reidville Road in Spartanburg. Current employees at the dealership are expected to be retained. Steve White Auto Group also plans to hire additional personnel for sales, service and support roles as the dealership grows.
