Table 301 Hospitality is expanding again, adding a sports tavern in a partnership with the Greenville Drive.
Lefty’s West End Tavern will open at 941 S. Main St. with a projected opening date set for this summer. The restaurant space, next to left field entrance to Fluor Field, was previously occupied by The Bellwether Public House and Liberty Tap Room. The Bellwether closed in September 2024, and Liberty Tap Room closed in 2021.
“Right over the left field fence,” said Craig Brown, owner of the Greenville Drive, in a released statement. “That helped influence the name along with the overall sports-orientation of the term, ‘Lefty.’ It felt like a sports bar name, had a casual feel to it, nothing pretentious, and most of all, it felt welcoming.”
Brown purchased the building where the tavern will be located in December 2021. The Drive’s offices are also located in the building, which stretches the length of Fluor Field along Main Street.
The announcement was made May 15 just before the Greenville Drive hosted the Hub City Spartanburgers.
The sports tavern will offer classic but thoughtfully curated bar fare, according to a news release. It will include more than 20 televisions, as well as an outdoor patio with a large video screen.
Table 301 owner Carl Sobocinski and Brown have a long relationship. Both are celebrating 20th anniversaries for respective pursuits – the baseball team for Brown, and euphoria Greenville for Sobocinski.
The news comes less than a year after Table 301 opened Tavola Italian at BridgeWay Station in Mauldin. An announced-but-still-unnamed restaurant led by executive chef Nico Abello is also expected to open later this year.
