Wade’s Restaurant, a Spartanburg eatery with a longstanding legacy of Southern cooking, will open a second location in 2026.
Wade’s Jr. will offer counter service and curbside pickups of its classic meat-and-three-style menu. The new location will be at 3008 Reidville Road, about 1.5 miles west of Interstate 26.
Second- and third-generation owners of Wade’s Restaurant – father Wade “Hamp” Lindsey Jr., son Wade Lindsey III, daughter Anna Lindsey Liles, and chief of operations Joey Basso – announced the expansion June 16.
“Our family and team have been dreaming up the next version of Wade’s for years, and we are thrilled to finally introduce what we’ve been working on,” said Hamp Lindsey in a released statement. “Spartanburg’s growth is truly exciting, and we are proud to expand within this vibrant community. Wade’s Jr. allows us to reach even more guests, especially those who may not always make it to our east side location.”
An opening date has not yet been set.
Wade’s Restaurant was first opened in 1947 as Mrs. May’s Grocery by Wade and Betty Lindsey. It has remained in the Lindsey family. Its flagship location at 1000 N. Pine St. in Spartanburg was a recipient of a James Beard Foundation America’s Classic Award for the Southeast in 2024.
