Construction has begun on Falls Tower, a 17-story mixed-use building within the Camperdown development at the corner of South Main and East Broad streets, across from the Peace Center.

Falls Tower will include seven floors of office space, accounting for 196,092 square feet; 33,231 square feet of retail/restaurant space; one floor of conference space; and 18 luxury condominium units on the top five stories of the building. The building’s residents will have access to private garage units at ground level.

General contractor Brasfield & Gorrie is collaborating with architect Wakefield Beasley & Associates on Falls Tower, which is slated for completion in 2020.

The development from Greenville-based developer Centennial American Properties will also include a nearly 200-room AC Hotel by Auro Hotels, an apartment building by Daniel recently topped out, the existing Greenville News building, and a central public plaza. Restaurants and retail will surround the interior plaza and also front Main Street.

“The Camperdown development continues to shape Greenville’s skyline,” said Ben Barfield, vice president and division manager of Brasfield & Gorrie. “This important development will bring new opportunities to the city’s downtown, thanks in part to the partnership we have with Centennial American Properties and the city of Greenville.”

“Falls Tower is a key part of Camperdown, as it will activate the space with energy and show off Greenville’s pride and joy,” said Centennial American Properties president Brody Glenn. “Residents will enjoy outdoor entertaining along with stunning scenic views of Falls Park and Liberty Bridge. Retail and restaurants on the ground floor of the building will spark foot traffic and encourage visitors to enjoy the new Camperdown plaza, which will be the largest open space in downtown Greenville. The start of construction on Falls Tower is a key milestone for the partners invested in this development from Centennial American Properties to Brasfield & Gorrie and WCM Global Wealth.”
