Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers plans to open a new location on Woodruff Road in Greenville.
The fast-food chicken restaurant would be located at 1140 Woodruff Road, directly in front of The Point shopping mall and across from The Shops at Greenridge. It is expected to include both indoor and outdoor dining seating and a drive-thru.
A Raising Cane’s representative said in an email to the Upstate Business Journal that the restaurant on Woodruff Road is currently pending.
“We’re still awaiting permit approval, which we don’t anticipate coming through until early next year,” the representative said. “So, if all goes to plan, it’ll be a while before we’re serving up our Craveable Chicken Finger Meals to Greenville.”
Raising Cane’s has applied for a special-exception permit to allow its new restaurant to operate after midnight. The requested hours of operation would be from 9 to 3 a.m., seven days a week. The city of Greenville’s Board of Zoning Appeals will review Rasing Cane’s application on April 9.
The Texas-based fast-food chain is known for its chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast and Cane’s Sauce. It was originally founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1996. Today, Raising Cane’s operates more than 900 restaurants across the country, including five locations in South Carolina.
