South Carolina Research Authority, a public, nonprofit corporation that works to fuel the state’s innovation economy, announced June 9 it awarded a $25,000 startup grant to SusMaTech of Spartanburg and $75,000 in grants to Clemson University.
SusMaTech develops bio-based, drop-in alternatives to specialty chemicals, enabling formulators to replace non-renewable additives with high-performance, low-carbon options.
Clemson will use its five academic matching grants to support the development of university-owned technologies.
Volare Boats of Johns Island received a $50,000 demonstration grant, and Cuffway of Elgin, Memberworks of Daniel Island and PSF R&D Labs of Mount Pleasant each received a $25,000 startup grant from SCRA.
Land Takeoffs, LivIQ Health, Oral Pouch Solutions and Petra Loan Servicing of Greenville were welcomed as member companies.
Land Takeoffs provides professional site measurement, estimating and takeoff services that help contractors, developers and design professionals streamline project planning and improve bid accuracy.
LivIQ Health combines technology-driven healthcare services with data insights to help employers, organizations and communities improve health outcomes and increase access to care.
Oral Pouch Solutions specializes in advanced oral care solutions designed to support dental professionals and address unmet needs in oral surgery, wound care and post-procedure recovery.
Petra Loan Servicing helps private lenders streamline operations through automated payment processing, proactive borrower management and a modern loan servicing platform.
The businesses will receive coaching, access to experts, grant eligibility and consideration for an investment from SCRA’s investment affiliate, SC Launch.
