Truliant Federal Credit Union has announced plans for four new branch locations in the Upstate to accomplish the goal of more than 10 locations when the regional expansion completes. Truliant already has two branches and an operations office in the Upstate area.
Last year, Truliant opened its Truliant Upstate regional office in downtown Greenville and a second freestanding branch at Cherrydale Point.
But that was just the beginning.
With a new location in Easley opening this spring and its Greer location opening in the last quarter of 2023, Truliant is betting big on the Upstate. Over the next several years, Truliant intends to create more than 80 new jobs as it continues to add additional business lines including mortgage, insurance, financial advisors, indirect lending, and digital banking services.
“The Upstate’s remarkable economic development and continued population boom make it ideal for this expansion. These new locations will provide us with an even stronger foothold in the state,” said Truliant President and CEO Todd Hall. “By swiftly matching the region’s fast-paced growth, we intend to reach even more potential members and give them the financial tools they need to build a brighter financial future.”
In 2021, Truliant purchased and renovated the three-story, 19,000-square-foot facility located at 110 W. North Street. Truliant’s operations in the Upstate will be managed from this location. The credit union, chartered in 1952, has an existing branch on Pelham Road, which opened in 2016 and which had replaced a long-standing location existing on Airport Road.
“Truliant has a long history in Greenville,” said Todd Hall, Truliant’s president and CEO.
Truliant traced its history and past business relationships with Greenville almost three decades to its partnership with JPS textile Group, with which Truliant partnered in 1994.
The Upstate expansion represents the fourth regional concentration from Truliant, following branches in the Charlotte-Metro area, North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad and southwestern Virginia.
“Our expansion in the Upstate will allow us to better meet the needs of the entire community by providing both financial education and services to the residents and businesses that need it most. And we’re excited about the opportunities that we will be able to bring to these communities in the future,” Hall says.
The financial institution aims to support the community as well, with the Truliant Foundation donating $25,000 to the Greenville Tech Foundation’s Student Emergency Needs Fund, which supports students facing financial hardship while pursuing academic goals.
