A year after opening branch offices in Greer and Anderson, Greenwood-based Countybank is once again expanding its footprint in the Upstate market.

The bank, which is owned by the holding company TCB Corp., has added B.A. Bennett Insurance of Greer to its Countybanc Insurance portfolio, according to a news release.

The acquisition became effective Sept. 4 with an office at 103 N. Main St. in Greer. Financial details of the acquisition were not provided.

“As the community of Greer has grown, so have the needs of the citizens who live here,” said Ken Harper, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Countybank, in a statement. “It is apparent that our companies share a common interest in serving clients with the same extraordinary high level of care, and we feel that a combination of our operations could not be a better fit for each other and for Greer as a whole.”

Founded in 1933, Countybank provides a full range of financial solutions for customers, including traditional deposit and loan products, trust and wealth management, mortgage loans, investments services, and insurance. The company has nine office or ATM locations in Greenwood and Greenville counties.

B.A. Bennett was founded in 1923 and offers auto, home, business, and life insurance. The insurance firm said it has provided solutions and protection for local consumers, families, and businesses through a “personal and positive one-on-one approach.”

“B.A. Bennett has recently been searching for new opportunities to expand our services and increase the scope of our offerings, and we have found just that with Countybank,” said Julie Lenderman, president of B.A. Bennett. “We are delighted to be combining our efforts with a like-minded organization that strives to cater to our community.”
