The Greer Commission of Public Works (CPW), a provider of electric, natural gas, water, and wastewater treatment in the city of Greer and surrounding cities, recently received the Gold System Operational Achievement Recognition award by the American Public Gas Association.
Greer CPW, one of the six companies in the U.S. to receive the award this year, received 197 points out of the possible 202 by the APGA Operations and Safety Committee. In previous years, Greer CPW received the bronze level award in 2015, and in 2016 they received the silver level.
“Our staff has worked diligently the past four years to improve skills, promote safety in the workplace, and use technology to be more efficient with our work,” Rob Rhodes, Gas Department Manager, said. “This achievement is something all gas utilities strive for, and we’re honored to receive it.”
Greer CPW serves 24,800 customers from Spartanburg County to Taylors. For more information, visit CPW’s website.
