The Greer State Bank has announced a new foundation to benefit the Greater Greer area.
“This is a first for our bank and I am extremely excited for the opportunity to serve as chairman in our inaugural year,” Christy Blackwell, president and chairman of the foundation, said in a release.
April Staggs, vice president and co-chair of the foundation board, said the foundation received more than $40,000 in contributions and commitments from band employees and the board of directors in a 30-day period.
The Greer State Bank Foundation Board will consider requests from local charitable organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Applications will be available on March 2 and can be found on the bank’s website: GreerStateBank.com.
