Spartanburg-based Smith Drug Co. announced Friday the hiring of Lena Jouran as divisional vice president of finance.
Jouran will be responsible for supporting Smith Drug Co. and Burlington Drug Co. in her new role.
She succeeds Kyle Waltz, who has accepted the vice president corporate controller position with Smith Drug Co.’s parent company, Spartanburg-based J M Smith Corp.
“Lena brings with her an extensive background in managing the finance complexities of the pharmacy supply chain,” said Jeff Foreman, president of Smith Drug Co., in a statement. “We are excited to have her join the team and expect she will be a tremendous asset to our organization.”
Jouran previously worked for Walgreens as finance director of pharmacy procurement, supply chain, and Rx Insights.
She has also held leadership positions with PepsiAmericas and ConAgra Foods.
Jouran earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from DePaul University in Chicago.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to come to Smith Drug Co.,” she said in a statement. “The leadership team is implementing strategies designed to help them, and their customers, achieve greater things. I am looking forward to applying my industry knowledge and experience to the challenges of this competitive industry.”
