Koops Inc., a Michigan-based manufacturer of automation systems, plans to invest $2.2 million in an expansion of its existing Greenville County operations.
The company, which is currently located at 17 AD Asbury Drive in Greenville, will relocate into a larger facility at 25 Brookfield Oaks, Suite H, in Mauldin, according to a news release from the S.C. Department of Commerce.
The move will allow the company to update its office space, add conference rooms, and install a new crane, according to the release. It is expected to be completed by July 2018 and create 20 new jobs over the next five years.
“We are so excited to move into the new facility. This state-of-the-art building will help us better serve our customers’ needs and will allow us to increase our automation output,” said Koops Inc. CEO Paul Brinks in the release. “Greenville County has proved to be a lively, growing, and business-friendly industrial environment that is suitable as a home for Koops Inc.’s growth into the future.”
Founded in 1989, Koops Inc. provides factory automation systems and features a variety of in-house services, including 3-D mechanical design, controls design, project management, machining, fabrication, and production-line integration.
