Alabama-inspired counter-service restaurant Moe’s Original Bar B Que will be open for business in Greenville on Monday, July 16.
The restaurant offers a departure from South Carolina’s current barbecue scene of sweet, tangy, and mustard-based sauces. Known for its Alabama white sauce, Moe’s serves Alabama-style barbecue, scratch-made sides, and Southern desserts all made fresh daily.
Located at the Westone development (109 W. Stone Ave.), Moe’s will serve lunch and dinner daily in the 2,500-square-foot fast-casual restaurant.
“Situated in the North Main community, the location was originally home to Star Cleaners in the 1920s,” said co-owner Sam Ragland. “Once we toured the spot and saw the character of the historic building, we knew this was a perfect place to repurpose into a Moe’s Original Bar B Que.”
The barbecue joint has seating available both inside and outside, flat-screen televisions, a full bar with rotating taps and frozen bushwhacker cocktails, and a patio featuring a fire pit. Catering and large takeout orders will also be available at the location.
