Greenville County Council member Lottie Gibson was hospitalized on Sunday for what is believed to be a mild stroke, according to county council chairman Bob Taylor.
Taylor said Monday that he had visited Gibson on Sunday night and she appeared to be recovering. “Hopefully she’ll be back with council soon,” said Taylor.
Gibson represents District 25 in Greenville County and has served on council since 1992. She is not expected to attend Tuesday’s council meeting. There is no provision for an absent council member as long as they are holding office because items require seven votes to pass, said Taylor.
