Ogletree Deakins, the Greenville-based labor and employment law firm, has opened its fifth overseas office in Paris.
Matt Keen, managing shareholder, said the six-attorney office opened March 1 to help clients navigate French employment laws, which he said “can be challenging for employers.”
The firm’s other foreign offices are in London, Berlin, Toronto, and Mexico City. Ogletree Deakins also has offices in 28 U.S. states and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Keen said it has expanded overseas as an extension of its growth in the United States.
“As business became more global, and our U.S. multinational clients began to encounter more labor and employment issues around the world, we saw a need that we could fill by having international capabilities,” he said.
Ogletree Deakins also has an International Practice Group of U.S.-based lawyers with experience in jurisdictions around the world, Keen said.
The firm, which specializes in representing management, was founded in Greenville and Atlanta 40 years ago and now claims more than 800 attorneys in more than 50 offices.
