Madison McKenzie has been hired as the new education and program manager (youth and adult) of the Upcountry History Museum-Furman University, a Smithsonian Affiliate.
As education and program manager, McKenzie is responsible for the continued growth, enhancement and delivery of the museum’s educational programs and initiatives designed for developing and engaging an audience-focused culture. In addition, she will ensure that programs provide opportunities for active engagement that relate to the mission of the museum as it fulfills its role of providing an unparalleled cultural and educational experience to a diverse and ever-expanding community.
A native of upstate South Carolina, McKenzie brings a balanced range of experience to the role of education and program manager. Earning a bachelor of arts degree in History and a master’s in the art of Teaching Social Studies, she has taught 7th grade social studies since 2013 at League Academy of Communication Arts in Greenville. She also has served as an intern at the Oconee Heritage Center and Pendleton Historic Foundation.
