H. Lynn Harton has been appointed to serve as the chairman of the board for United Community Banks, Inc. Harton joined United in 2012 and was named chief executive officer in July 2018.
Previously, Harton served in executive capacities with various financial institutions including The South Financial Group, Regions Financial Corporation, and BB&T.
