Last week, Marleylilly, an online boutique specializing in monogrammed clothing, jewelry, bags, and gifts, announced plans to build a new headquarters in Greer. UBJ was able to obtain a sneak peek of the new building:
The new headquarters will be 69,400 square feet on 14 acres of land and will house Marleylilly’s production, processing and distribution operations. Within that, 11,000 square feet of office space will be used to accommodate its e-fulfillment service. The building is designed to potentially increase warehouse space by 60,000 square feet as the company continues to grow.
The exterior of the warehouse portion is a mixture of tilt-up concrete construction with architecturally detailed panels, said architect Brad Benjamin. The office portion will feature extensive glass with metal panels and either brick or stone.
Site grading at 300 W. Phillips Road is beginning now with construction expected to begin in mid-to- late July. The new headquarters should be completed in 2016.
The Greenville County-based company was established in 2010. Marleylilly sells monogrammed merchandise from Marleylilly.com and non-personalized boutique apparel from its sister e-commerce site, Mondaydress.
“When we began monogramming on a sewing machine in our living room five years ago we never dreamed we would be blessed with an opportunity like this expansion project,” said Marleylilly owners Chad and Kelly Owens in a statement. “Moving every six months to accommodate unexpected growth is a struggle for any growing business, but it has been a reality for us since 2010. Our dedicated staff deserves this beautiful new facility, and we cannot wait to see the looks on their faces when we open the doors in 2016. We are excited for what this expansion means to the Upstate, but we are most excited to welcome new employees to the Marleylilly family.”
The $10 million investment is expected to create 69 new jobs over the next five years.
