The Arts Company, a 19-year-old Upstate business featuring local art and works from around the U.S. and Canada, including pottery to woodworking to jewelry, recently changed owners. New owner Julia Hoyle also relocated the business from Haywood Mall to Woodruff Road beside Staples. The Arts Company was opened in 1994 in Seneca by artists Marcia Langston and Terry Culbreath. In 2003, it was purchased by Warren and Adelaide Carpenter, who sold it to Julia Hoyle this year. The move to Woodruff Road gave the retailer a larger storefront with parking nearby. The Arts Company is Hoyle’s first retail venture after working in workforce development and small-business mentoring.
