Robotics, DIY tech to frontline Imagine Upstate conference


Upcoming innovation festival Imagine Upstate will feature live robot battles, futuristic fashion shows and hovercraft demonstrations aimed at highlighting innovation in the Upstate, according to leaders of the one-day festival.

Upstate Business Journal is a media sponsor of the Imagine Upstate festival.

Held April 4, the festival will include more than 50 tents lining Greenville’s Main Street downtown in addition to six stages that will host several events during the day.

Debuting this year, Imagine Upstate is aimed at highlighting science, technology, engineering, mathematics, innovation, creating and entrepreneurial activity in the Upstate, according to a news release.

The Saturday event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. will be preceded by events beginning on March 28, including the Wofford College Impact & Launch competition, the Imagine Upstate Transportation Hack-a-thon, a big data and medicine presentation and presentations on the future of energy.

Each tent will showcase a technology and innovations from industry leaders, local organizations, nonprofits and educators around the Upstate, according the schedule.
