South Carolina business filings through the Secretary of State’s Office are now available online.
The online service provides a digital method for companies and citizens to request, pay, and download business filing documents as well as certificates of existence/authorization online.
“This service will expedite the process of requesting and receiving filed business documents, and it allows my office to continue to meet the goals I have set to make conducting business…easier for the people of South Carolina through online services,” Secretary of State Mark Hammond said in a release.
More than 20,000 document and certificate requests are estimated to be handled by the new online service annually. Hammond anticipates requests will be completed in 24-48 hours.
The web-based application was built and is maintained at no cost to taxpayers through a partnership between the S.C. Secretary of State and South Carolina Interactive, the organization said.
